Part A: Research Task.
Research the following influential people who have contributed to the development of modern dance:
Due to the innovative creators of modern dance such as Isadora Duncan, Doris Humphrey, Martha Graham, Rudolf Laban and Merce Cunningham, modern dance in Australia and world wise has revolutionized dramatically.
These individuals have made a significant contribution to what dance is today, they stepped outside the traditional ideas of dance for their times and expressed and articulated their originality through their own idea of dance.
Through close analysis of these remarkable individuals it has become apparent of the huge impact each of these people has had on dance today. Through research of each individual’s styles, inspirations, techniques and philosophies it came to my knowledge that the styles of dance I am learning in this present time are those that came from these individuals. For example; in contemporary class I have learnt the contract and release techniques of Martha Graham. I am now aware of the techniques origin and its place in the revolution of dance.
It had become apparent how much dance has developed after the research of these five individuals. I have learnt a great amount of the development and revolution of dance and how important these individuals are in the development of dance.
